KhetiSaathi is built for Indian farmers and gardeners. We collect only what is needed to give you better farming advice — nothing more.

1. Who We Are

KhetiSaathi is an AI-powered WhatsApp assistant for Indian farmers and home gardeners. It is operated by Prashant Kumar, based in India. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. What Information We Collect

When you interact with KhetiSaathi on WhatsApp, we collect:

Phone number — to identify you across conversations
Messages you send — your questions, crop descriptions, location mentions
Voice messages — transcribed to text for processing, not stored as audio
Photos — analysed for crop/plant disease diagnosis, not stored permanently
Location information — only what you voluntarily share (village, district)
Farming profile — crops you grow, land size, if you share this voluntarily

We do not collect: Aadhaar numbers, bank details, PAN, or any government ID.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide crop disease diagnosis, mandi prices, weather alerts and farming advice
To personalise responses based on your location and crop profile
To send proactive alerts relevant to your farming season
To improve our AI models and service quality (anonymised only)
To generate anonymised insights for B2B partners — your personal data is never shared

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase (Asia-Pacific region). We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.

Messages are processed via Anthropic Claude API and Sarvam AI speech APIs. These providers do not retain your personal data beyond the API call.

5. Data Retention

We retain your farmer profile and message history for up to 2 years. You can request deletion at any time by contacting [email protected].

6. Your Rights

Access — request a copy of your data
Correction — update incorrect information
Deletion — request removal of your data
Opt-out — stop receiving proactive notifications

7. Third-Party Services

KhetiSaathi uses the following third-party services:

Twilio — WhatsApp message delivery
Anthropic Claude — AI response generation
Sarvam AI — Multilingual speech-to-text and text-to-speech
Open-Meteo — weather data (no personal data shared)
Agmarknet / data.gov.in — mandi price data (no personal data shared)

8. Children's Privacy

KhetiSaathi is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.

11. Grievance Redressal

12. Language & Governing Version

This Privacy Policy is available in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu for your convenience, in compliance with the DPDP Act, 2023. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail.
